The story of the Rebecca Goss “Boo-Yaah” Memorial Foundation

On March 3, 2007, the Goss family experienced the tragic loss of their 16-year-old daughter, Rebecca,
an avid horsewoman, in a senseless automobile accident.

Within weeks, three of Rebecca's classmates were also killed in another car accident. It was brought to the attention of
Rebecca's parents, John and Martha Goss, that two of the families didn't have sufficient funds for the burial of their children.

Created in honor of Rebecca, the Rebecca Goss “Boo-Yaah” Memorial Foundation's mission is to provide financial
support to assist families with burial expenses, grief counseling, medical bills and other recurring costs. In addition, as Rebecca's greatest dream was to become a veterinarian, the Foundation seeks to award college scholarships to graduates of Upland (CA) High School seeking to study veterinary medicine.

The phrase “Boo-Yaah,” derived from Rebecca's nickname, Becca Boo, is what she would shout
after a great sliding stop in a reining competition.
The Rebecca Goss “Boo-Yaah” Memorial Perpetual Trophy Designed by acclaimed western sculptor Mehl Lawson, this trophy will be awarded annually to the CRHA Challenge limited non-pro champion.
